There was a chance Samuel might do something during the course of the day to justify the letter. Swami stood at the entrance to his class. Samuel was teaching arithmetic. He looked at Swami. Swami hoped Samuel would scold him severely.

“You are half an hour late,” Samuel said. “I have a headache, sir,” Swami said. “Then why did you come at all?” This was an unexpected question from Samuel.

Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam passed away in Shillong on 27th July, 2015. He was 83. Kalam who reached Shillong via Guwahati in the morning, collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management-Shillong (IIM-S) at around 6.30 p.m. and was rushed to the Bethani Hospital. Doctors at the hospital said he was brought dead around 7 p.m. “He had no pulse when he was admitted to the hospital. We can attribute his death to cardiac arrest,” a doctor said.

Kamal was born in Rameswaram, Tamilnadu and studied physics and aerospace engineering. Kalam served as president for five years from 2002, enjoying the support of both the ruling B.J.P and the opposition Congress.
