Dear friend Puja,
I am glad to receive your letter and you want to know about West Bengal’s greatest festival Durga Puja. Well I will try my best to describe the grandeur of the festival of light and fun.
The entire Bengal specially Kolkata is decorated like a new bride. We have holidays for a week. Everybody go to the market and malls for shopping each day. We visit many temples and decorated pandals every day and offer prayers and prasad to Goddess Durga. The festival will end with the immersion of the idol. This is my most favourite time of the year. And the food during this entire season was mesmerizing. Every family prepared yummy rasgullas, jhal muri, shukto, shondesh, bhapa doi and more.
I wish this year you can join us during durga puja.I’ll wait for your response and I hope you could come.
Your dearest friend.
